Holiday Highlights

We had a great Christmas Holiday! It was full of family, food, presents and Jeremy doing an elliptical workout in his new vinyl jumpsuit Liz gave him. Yep, just another Christmas at the Eyre house.
Caden was, of course, super excited about Christmas and all the presents. He was passing out presents like a mad man. Halle got her very first dolly, which is a milestone in a little girls life. She wasn't feeling so hot that day so she doesn't look very enthusiastic.
We debated whether we were going to make the trip down to Nephi because the weather was so bad, but my mom said it would be the first time in like 35 years that we all didn't go to Nephi on Christmas so we didn't want to break tradition. Grandma Eyre's house was packed with relatives, which was great! Now that all the cousins are older with their own families we rarely all get together so it was great to have most of the family there. The family fun continued throughout the rest of the weekend. On Saturday we all got together to watch the Jazz game and have fondue. The chocolate helped to comfort us after the sad loss to Houston. The Jazz put up a good fight though. The fondue party was also, for Mal, a celebration for David Archuleta's birthday. His birthday was actually the next day, but we decided to get the party started early!
It seems like everyone and their dog either got a Wii, Rock Band or both for Christmas. Liz and Lucas were among the lucky ones to get both so on Sunday night we all went up to Syracuse to play. I tried out my new Skookie and we all got our video game on. I'm a little rusty on the instruments, but I rocked it out on the vocals for Bon Jovi, Wanted Dead or Alive and Caden totally jammed on the drums.
They also got a Wii Fit, which is hilarious. We all got a kick out of the hula-hoop game. Here's Liz showing us her skills.

So, in conclusion, Christmas at the Eyre house rocked this year! Bring on 2009!

So I like to sleep...

I guess it is my turn to post again. I decided to talk about one my favorite things to do, sleep! Whoever knows me can attest to the fact that I will fall asleep at any time or place no matter what the circumstance may be. Sometimes I just get tired and could use a snooze peeps...my life is rough! I have added some pictures that people have taken of me sleeping...some of them in random places. I swear we have more pictures of sleeping than of me awake but I guess it is one of my hobbies. I can't take pictures of myself sleeping so I am glad others are willing to document me in action or not in action I guess. And just another thing to note is I cannot for the life of me stay awake during a movie. Even if it is the most intense movie I have ever seen I will be sure to fall asleep. Take last night for example..Me and my friend Chere went and saw the movie Eagle Eye, and those that have seen this movie know it is an action/mystery/thriller so it kept me on the edge of my seat all night. I was so into it! When we were like 2 hours into the movie I noticed that I had not even fallen asleep and I was so proud of myself! But the next thing I knew Chere was waking me up cause the movie was over. How the crap did that happen?? I was so frustrated! She ended up having to tell me how the movie ended. So this hobby of mine that I enjoy can also be a nuisance. I miss a lot of great movies. My edited R rated movie night friends have decided to stop inviting me to watch movies with them cause they know I will just sleep through the whole thing. I need to work on perfecting this hobby so I don't miss out on so many things. Oh and another thing, the only picture of me that was included on the senior slide show that they played at graduation was a picture of me sleeping on my piano in piano class. What can I say? I love to sleep! Or maybe I don't sleep more than the average person, maybe people just always think to take pictures of me when I am sleeping. I think they find enjoyment in making fun of my sleeping face. As long as they don't take pictures of me with my mouth open I really don't mind. It did come in handy for me. Hey it gave me something to blog about!

Twelve Days 'til Christmas

Malorie is insisting I post this song that we wrote about our family. It was written back in 1999 so it is really outdated. (If by any slim chance a Tidwell brother reads this...you all know everyone had a crush on you) It's also full of inside jokes so I'm sure nobody is going to get it, but here you go...

An Eyre Family Christmas

On an Eyre Family Christmas you'll be sure to see...
12 gifts for Malorie
11 layer salad
10 trips to Shopko
9 guitars a strumming
8 heads need of trimming
7 Eyres a lovin'
6 cars and counting
5 PERFECT CHILDREN
4 single ladies
3 Tidwell brothers
2 gassy parents
Giant panties on the Christmas tree!!

This picture was taken the year the song was written. The balloon in the picture was half-dead and we're pretty sure it was possessed. It followed us around the house all night and freaked us out. We named it Wilson. On Christmas morning we found it dead under the Christmas tree. Weird Christmas....

Audrey...

It is now my turn to introduce the other blogger of Wild, Wild but innocent. Her name would be Audrey AKA Audj, Audigeridoo, Audj Podge Bagosh, Bruce Duckie, etc. Audrey is a fantastic human being full of energy and spunk! She is someone that I have always looked up to and wanted to be like. She has a very fun and contagious personality, always making people laugh. In all of our home movies she is the center of attention and I was always the annoying little sister running behind her trying to copy everything she did. She was that cool! But being the nice sister she is, would always include me. This may seem like something small but it has always meant a lot to me. So thanks Audj! If Audrey were to describe herself she would say she is a spectator, someone who enjoys going to shows, concerts and sporting events but what alot of you don't know she has many fun hidden talents. She is a fantastic clogger even though she has only taken one clogging class ever. Audrey is also quite the poet! You should ask to see her collection, my personal favorite is the one entitled "BSB I Love Thee." But my favorite talent that Audrey posseses is the ability to make Audrizzle delights, they are quite the delightful cookie :) Haha I could keep going on and about her cool talents...but I won't. I am sure we will see those talents in the blog posts to come. In Audrey's post she described me as someone who is very passionate about music, but she also has had her own fair share of fangirl moments. In fact I think she is the one that taught me the ranks. Everyone knows that Audrey is a BSB fan for life! Her and her friends spent many hours making videos impersonating them, or just gushing about their love for the band. She even sent a Book of Mormon to Kevin of BSB, which I always thought was cool. Always trying to spread the gospel! But most importantly Audrey is someone who has great faith and patience. This girl has been through alot of trials in her life but she has never lost faith or patience. I know she has helped strengthen our family a ton just by being a great example. Pretty much this girl is amazing! Love ya Audj!

Mal...

I'd like to take a post to introduce my fellow blogger, Malorie. If I had to describe Mal in one word it would probably be "Archuleta". Malorie is a very passionate person, especially when it comes to country music and a certain American Idol. When she finds something she is interested in she will find out absolutely everything there is to know about it. If you need a fan, whether you're an old time singer like Johnny Cash or a local no-name group or an American Idol runner-up, Mal is a professional. And she's not afraid to admit it, which is another one of her great qualities. She is who she is and it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. Being the youngest of five kids she's had to learn to stand up for herself. Also being the youngest she's had to worry about keeping up with her older siblings. While the rest of us have finished school and have moved on, she is still working away at getting her degree. I know she is working harder than I ever did. With all that studying she still finds time to be social and spend time with her friends. She is a very loyal friend and she genuinely cares about all of them. Mal is a very nonjudgmental person. Lately Mal has become one of my closest confidants. I know I can go to her without being judged and she will give me sincere advice and comfort. She never overanalyzes or overthinks anything. She knows what she wants and she knows what she believes and she sticks to her guns! So David, if you're reading this, Mal loves you and she would make an excellent girlfriend or at least first kiss!

So...this is our blog

It seems like everybody and their dog has a blog nowadays and Mal and I wanted to jump on the bandwagon as well and since neither of us have exciting enough lives on our own we figure by teaming up we will have enough to fill a blog. So let the blogging begin!
P.S. Whoever can figure out what song our blog title comes from wins.
