Obviously this blog has been neglected but events have occurred that are definitely blog worthy. Last week we went on our much anticipated family trip to California. Since Caden was born we have been planning this trip and waiting until he was old enough to go to Disneyland. We convinced ourselves that three years old was enough. It felt like we had been waiting for ages for this vacation to get here so it's hard to believe that it is actually over. We packed our week full of California fun. We went to Sea World on Monday and Universal Studios and we had three fun filled days at the happiest place on earth. My love for Disneyland continues to grow as the years go by. Caden was pretty much terrified of everything and he kept his eyes closed most of the time. He did love the tea cups, which was unfortunate for the rest of us, and he enjoyed Autopia as well. He liked the rides that were outside in the light. I can't blame the kid for being scared. I can understand how most of those rides in Fantasy Land would be terrifying to a three year old. They basically consist of dark tunnels and loud scary noises. He did, however, refuse to open his eyes during It's a Small World and even the Pixar parade, which I thought was a bit much. We had a great time though. Good Eyre family fun! I especially had a great day on Friday. I was sick most of the week and Thursday night I pretty much felt like I was on my death bed and I didn't know if I was going to be able to make it through my last day of Disneyland on Friday. I was talking on the phone with my boyfriend Jason, who I thought was in Provo, and he tried to give me a pep talk to tell me that I would feel better. After a rough night I woke up late when everyone was already up getting ready for Disneyland. I hurriedly got ready. Amidst all my chaos I got a text from Jason. It was a picture of Sleeping Beauty's castle at Disneyland. I thought that was strange. Why would Jason send me a picture of the castle? It didn't take me long to figure out that he had actually taken the picture and he was actually down the street from me at that moment! I was completely surprised! The text said "Come to this place as soon as you can. There is a surprise waiting for you!" I couldn't believe it. Disneyland is my favorite place in the world and it's pretty much every girl's dream to be swept off her feet by the boy she loves at a castle! Well Jason was there waiting for me and he said some really sweet things that made me cry before he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I felt like a princess!
How perfect is that proposal?! It was a dream come true. Of course I said yes. Then out of nowhere right after he proposed a Disney employee walked up to us with these Disney "Just Engaged" pins that we wore all day so all of the "cast members" congratulated us as we got on and off the rides. They must have one person whose job it is to watch for proposals at the castle and hand out pins. Disneyland doesn't miss anything! It was so much fun to be with my favorite people at my favorite place. It was a week I will never forget and definitely a proposal for the books! For more pictures and info about our trip check out Emily's blog, which she will be updating soon. eeyre.blogspot.com
