No, not because of the disgustingly awful weather but because it's the the start of another journey on a new season of American Idol. I love this cheesy show! I honestly get chills hearing the music at the beginning of every episode. Call me crazy but I just can't get enough of it. I love seeing people so happy and watching their dreams come true right before my eyes. I have been an avid fan since season 2 and here we are at season 9 :)

This week we are at the top 24 stage. I have already scouted out, in my own opinion, the top contenders of this season. My faves so far in no particular order YET...are:

Katie Stevens
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWBOnk_ad8A

Tyler Grady
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugXJMUI2OHM

Andrew Garcia
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1f0_YyxpDYI

Didi Benami
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK8jghuNpK8

In 3 weeks it will be down to the top 12 and that is when March Madness begins, American Idol style :) Me, along with the rest of my family will make our American Idol brackets, consisting of our top 12 favorite idols in the order of who we think will be voted off first. You should all join in the fun if you want! When the time comes I will post my final bracket on here! But until then go scout out your faves! Happy listening :)

Best Day Ever!

Obviously this blog has been neglected but events have occurred that are definitely blog worthy. Last week we went on our much anticipated family trip to California. Since Caden was born we have been planning this trip and waiting until he was old enough to go to Disneyland. We convinced ourselves that three years old was enough. It felt like we had been waiting for ages for this vacation to get here so it's hard to believe that it is actually over. We packed our week full of California fun. We went to Sea World on Monday and Universal Studios and we had three fun filled days at the happiest place on earth. My love for Disneyland continues to grow as the years go by. Caden was pretty much terrified of everything and he kept his eyes closed most of the time. He did love the tea cups, which was unfortunate for the rest of us, and he enjoyed Autopia as well. He liked the rides that were outside in the light. I can't blame the kid for being scared. I can understand how most of those rides in Fantasy Land would be terrifying to a three year old. They basically consist of dark tunnels and loud scary noises. He did, however, refuse to open his eyes during It's a Small World and even the Pixar parade, which I thought was a bit much. We had a great time though. Good Eyre family fun! I especially had a great day on Friday. I was sick most of the week and Thursday night I pretty much felt like I was on my death bed and I didn't know if I was going to be able to make it through my last day of Disneyland on Friday. I was talking on the phone with my boyfriend Jason, who I thought was in Provo, and he tried to give me a pep talk to tell me that I would feel better. After a rough night I woke up late when everyone was already up getting ready for Disneyland. I hurriedly got ready. Amidst all my chaos I got a text from Jason. It was a picture of Sleeping Beauty's castle at Disneyland. I thought that was strange. Why would Jason send me a picture of the castle? It didn't take me long to figure out that he had actually taken the picture and he was actually down the street from me at that moment! I was completely surprised! The text said "Come to this place as soon as you can. There is a surprise waiting for you!" I couldn't believe it. Disneyland is my favorite place in the world and it's pretty much every girl's dream to be swept off her feet by the boy she loves at a castle! Well Jason was there waiting for me and he said some really sweet things that made me cry before he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I felt like a princess!
How perfect is that proposal?! It was a dream come true. Of course I said yes. Then out of nowhere right after he proposed a Disney employee walked up to us with these Disney "Just Engaged" pins that we wore all day so all of the "cast members" congratulated us as we got on and off the rides. They must have one person whose job it is to watch for proposals at the castle and hand out pins. Disneyland doesn't miss anything! It was so much fun to be with my favorite people at my favorite place. This past weekend I had the awesome opportunity to go to Lake Tahoe with the greatest friends in the world. I had never been there before and I can now honestly say it is one of my favorite places in the world. It's just like the beach only ten times better because it is surrounded by beautiful mountains. It's gorgeous!
We got there on Thursday and we were all pretty exhausted from the long(extremely boring) drive so we just took it easy. On Friday we headed down to the lake for the day. It was perfect! The weather was beautiful and the water was nice and warm. We just played and relaxed. Saturday was more of the same. Pretty much your ideal vacation.

I decided I wanted to do something I had never done before. Water has always been one of my greatest fears and I was determined to conquer a fear. We planned on renting a jet ski(for some reason they terrify me), but after seeing my options I decided on para sailing. I figure I would have more opportunities to jet ski in the future. I decided pretty late in the day and there was only one spot left so I had to go by myself. Actually, I was in a boat with a group from India who didn't speak English. Luckily the guy on the boat deck said he would take pictures. This needed to be documented. Surprisingly, it really wasn't scary at all. It was really peaceful and tranquil floating 600 feet above such a beautiful blue lake surrounded by snow peaked mountains. If I ever get the chance to do it again I think I might splurge and pay the extra $30 to go up to 1200 feet.

One of my favorite parts of this vacation was just spending time with my friends. We stayed up late playing games and just laughing at each other and ourselves. Things always get a little out of hand when we all get together. One night Ben ended up in the backyard behind the shed wearing nothing but a bath towel. I can't believe I actually made it through all four years. It has been a crazy few years but I feel like I have learned and grown up so much. My first 2 years of school I lived the college life up in Logan. I have a few good memories from that experience but overall I wasn't a big fan of Logan so I finished my last 2 years at the USU Extension Center in Salt Lake. I really enjoyed my experiences there! It definitely isn't as social as Logan and the majority of the kids that were in my classes were married but we all became good friends. There were only a handful of us in my major that went to the extension center so it was fun to have all of our classes together. Now that I am graduated I guess I am supposed to be all knowing about families and how they develop, that is kind of a scary thought because I don't feel at all prepared to go out into the real world. I guess I will learn a lot more once I jump in with both feet and get some hands on experience! It has been a great past four years and I look forward to the future and what awaits me! I just hope I can find a job soon with this crappy economy. So if any of you reading this hear of any job openings, let me know! It would be very much appreciated.

The Big Move

Well by now the move to the new Church History Library is well underway. Two weeks ago we started loading everything into boxes and on carts. It is quite the project and it's not your typical move. There are a few more steps in the whole moving process. It all started last year when we barcoded every item in the collection so we would have a way to account for everything. The whole Church History Department staff took their turn coming to the stacks to "tag". The perk was you got to wear jeans so you would be able to squat down to the bottom shelf to scan without flashing everyone. Even though we, as the circulation staff, have to do that kind of stuff everyday to pull things and we do it all in a dress (well, Alison and I do). We just have to make sure no one is around. :) Here's a picture of us (Gaylen and all).
Anyway, barcoding was a huge project and I still have carpal tunnel from using a scanner so much. During the move, when we take an item off the shelf we have to scan it to the box or cart we put it on and then when it gets to the new building we have to scan it again to the new shelf. It's a bit tedious, but we obviously want to make sure we don't lose anything. Kinda important stuff. Since I work in circulation and I know the collection and the computer program better than some I was made a room lead, which gives me a lot more responibiliy and pressure to make sure everything is done right and we don't lose anything.
The whole trek getting it over to the new building is pretty crazy too. Bailey's moving company is helping us. They are basically a bunch of huge guys and they're great! Definitely come in handy with the heavy stuff. They take all the boxes and carts and shrink wrap them and then they have to haul them down the elevator and through the parking lot.
The missionaries (we call them sentinals) sit all along the move route to the new building just supervising. The route is through a tunnel underneath North Temple and City Creek. There is even a missionary who sits in the elevator just going up and down all day picking people up. The other day one of them got a little car sick. It wasn't pretty. But so far things are going pretty well. We haven't lost anything or had any huge catastrophes. It's crazy to see the archives empty out. You realize just how much stuff we really have. Here's a couple pictures where you can kind of see what it looked like before and after.

Hopefully the whole moving part will be done within the next couple weeks and then the hard part starts of cleaning it up and making sure everything is organized and where it needs to be. I have to be honest, it's going to be really rough getting used to the cold inside the new stacks. Even though it's a lot better for the collection, it stinks for those of us who have to go in there everyday to pull stuff. The shelves are a lot higher also so we all had to be certified to drive a "Wave". It's this machine that we can drive around the stacks and it lifts of up to the top shelf. It's a pretty heavy duty piece of machinery and frankly, it kind of scares me. I'm just hoping I don't crash into a shelf and knock over something important. I'm sure it will take some getting used to, but I am so thankful to be working for the Church during such a historic event and I really am looking forward to working in such a beautiful building. Everyone be sure to come to the open house in June!
(I have to say this because I work for the Church) The views expressed in this blog do not necessarily reflect the views of the LDS Church.

Pure Inspiration World Wide

I met Archie!!

Just when you think life can't get any better...it does! I know I just posted a blog but I am too excited to sleep right now and I just couldn't wait to share the good news with you all! I JUST OFFICIALLY MET DAVID ARCHULETA!!! Not that any of you really care but it is huge for me and I hope that you will at least be excited for me :)
So here is the story if you care to know. I just get home from class when my friend Heather text me and says, "I'm sitting by david at chilis it's awesome lol" I didn't know if she pulling a late april fools joke on me or something because it just seemed too good to be true. I told her I was way jealous and to go talk to him. Deep down I really wanted to run over to Chili's and see him too but I was hesitant cause that is totally stalkerish. But after talking to Audrey and Heather they both convinced me to go. I was soooo nervous I was shaking like crazy! When I got to Chili's I called Heather and she told me that they were talking to David and that I should just walk in. So I did....feeling so extremely stupid! At this point they weren't talking to David anymore so I just went in and sat down at Heather and her fiance Jeremy's table and started talking to them. David was just right there next to them! It was super crazy! Since Heather and Jeremy just got engaged this week and I hadn't heard the story yet they told me all about that. But then Jeremy just starts talking to David. It was seriously so awkward! I couldn't even look at David I was so embarrassed. Jeremy was talking to David about Jeremy's little sister Jenny. Apparently David is friends with her from Murray High. David said he still had Jenny's number in his phone so Jeremy said that David should call her some time haha. Then as we all were leaving we asked David if we could get our picture taken with him and he was totally cool with it! There was another lady that asked to get her picture taken with him too that was like twice my age so I didn't feel quite so stupid. I said a bunch of things that I cannot even remember. I was a mess so I hope I didn't say anything too stupid haha. David was there with a bunch of little jr. high boys which I thought was very cute :) As David was walking out the door Jeremy yelled, "Hey David I was totally bummed when I found out you lost American Idol." And David was like, "Oh no don't worry about it. I love David Cook. He is awesome!" I thought it was funny...and oh yeah as David was leaving he put his arm around Heather and told her congrats on her engagement! He was so sweet! Ahh...my dream finally came true :)

I LOVE Arch Madness!!

Most people celebrate March Madness but in my house, this March, ARCH Madness was celebrated. Okay...we are celebrating both I guess.
On Friday, March 20th we (my parents, Emily, Audrey and I) made a trip to Idaho Falls to see the one and only David Archuleta! When we arrived in I.F. there was already a huge crowd lined up to get in. Apparently the ladies at the front of the line had been there since before 7 am. That is dedication! We got there around 4pm so we only had to wait 3 hours to get in.
While we were waiting in line the band came out and took pictures with the crowd. This is Mike the guitarist on the left and Eli the drummer on the right.
They were all way cool! My friend Dave is friends with Alex, who is Archie's bass player. Dave text Alex and told him to come say hi to me in the line. Alex totally did! He was way nice and said he would try and hook me up after the concert so I could meet David! This made me kiddy!
The concert was general admission so we didn't get great seats but that is alright with me. The concert was still AMAZING!! I don't know what more can be said. Archie is the real deal! He can sing anything and make my heart melt :) He has also gotten so much better at performing. He was dancing all over the stage. There was so much energy in that Civic Auditorium! After the concert we waited around to try and find Alex so he could make my dreams come true. Alex was no where to be found though...sad story. But we did wait outside the tour bus to see if David would come out cause he always seems to do that. Everyone kept telling us David wasn't going to come out cause they didn't want him to catch a cold. They told us that we should all just go home. Many people did leave but I just told Audrey and Emily that we had to wait a few more minutes cause I just had a feeling that he would come out. I was right! Next thing we know his manager comes out and said that David was going to come out but that we shouldn't expect him to speak cause he needed to save his voice. They had us all stand in a single file line and David came down the line and signed one autograph for everyone. It made me laugh because since David was whispering I guess everyone else thought they had to whisper too. It was so reverent I almost felt like I was at church haha. He was super sweet! I told him he was amazing and that I loved him and David whispered, "Aww thanks.." Yep I am pretty sure he loved me ;) Successful trip/concert! Best day of my life!

But the Arch Madness doesn't stop there. This past Friday, March 27th, was another day full of Archie goodness! My mom and I started the day off at the Fans of David luncheon. Okay don't think I am crazy...I just wanted to go in case David showed up. He didn't show up and the whole thing was very lame. The food was delicious but I felt so out of place! Everyone there was like online chat buddies and it was like a big reunion of people that have never actually met each other in person. They made us put on name tags with our name and our screen name. I don't have a screen name so I felt even more left out...ok no I didn't. I was getting a little freaked out. My mom and I decided to sneak out early cause it was lame and it was like -30 degrees in there cause the heat wasn't on.
Anyway...then that night the Archie crew went to the sold out concert at the E-Center. There were girls from the age of 4 years old to 70 years old at this concert. And even a few guys here and there, my dad being one of them! Go Dad!
This concert was PHENOMENAL!! I honestly have not been to a concert that blew me away as much as this one did! David has the perfect voice, personality, looks....I could keep going and going! I really believe he saved his voice and energy for this home town concert. He totally let loose and belted out every single song! I am so glad that I was able to take part in his first home town concert of his first solo tour. I will remember this night for the rest of my life! After the concert Audrey and I went to the after party at Wise Guys comedy club.
It was fun to get out groove on with David Osmond and the Archuleta siblings. Daniel Archuleta has some great dance moves! It was a fantastic night and I am still on an Archie high and will probably be...hmm....forever! haha
Here are some of my favorite performances from the Home Town concert

I didn't win the front row tickets but it was still and amazing show and I loved just being there taking it all in! We went to California to visit one of my bestest friends Katie. I've missed her like crazy since she moved out there with her husband Ben and their little girl Kiara so I was so excited to just hang out and have some fun. They live in Stockton so after Katie picked us up from the airport we headed to San Francisco to do some sightseeing. We walked around Fisherman's Warf, got our free sample at Ghirardelli Square, and we were even able to ride a trolley and a cable car. We had a great San Fransisco tourist day (no thanks to the not-so-nice concierge).
I was so excited to see Kiara. She doesn't know us very well because she was too little when they moved, but I instantly fell in love with her. She is so freakin cute and I think she took quite a liking to Mal or, as she likes to call her, Mowrie. She is so much fun and she has the cutest little personality.
We went to Six Flags Marine World on Saturday. It's been a while since I've gone to an amusement park with a kid so it was a completely new experience. Going on the kiddy rides with Kiara was a blast and it was so much fun to see how excited she got. And, as you can see, Mal was a little excited to ride the merry-go-round.
There really is nothing like hanging out with your best friends. We stayed up just laughing and reminiscing about old times...and about new times. :) I am so thankful for all of my amazing friends and I'm thankful for Katie for letting me invite myself to her house for my vacation. Thanks Katie! But it is going to be a big year for me. I am graduating from college this May! This is just pure craziness if you ask me. I remember my high school graduation just like it was yesterday. I remember thinking that I still had 4 more years of school left and that seemed like an eternity. I was scared to death to go to college. But it has been a blast and has gone by soooooo fast! I can hardly believe that it is almost over. I am super excited to never have homework ever again though but I am terrified to enter the real world and get a real job. With this sucky economy I am also worried about finding a job. So if any of you know of any good jobs out there where they are looking for fantastic employees like me please let me know! haha Anywho, I kind of went off on a tangent there...my birthday was fantastic! I went out to dinner with my fam to Texas Roadhouse and then we came home and ate some delicious David Archuleta cake. My mom is pretty much amazing and created David Archuleta in frosting form. I just had to post pictures so you could all see the masterpiece!

Tagged

1. Tiff has been my best friend since the 2nd grade. She is pretty much the best friend anyone could ask for. She has stuck with me through the good times and the bad times. We were even roommates at BYU and they say being roommates ruins a friendship, but I think it only made ours stronger (if that's possible). Actually, I probably wouldn't have made it through college without her. She's the best! Anyway, this picture was taken last August on our trip to California to visit Melanie (we flew this time to be safe). We rented a boat and cruised around the harbor at Newort Beach. It was a great trip and it was so nice to just get away and hang out with my friends.

I tag Katie, Allison, Lindsay and whoever...

Tagged

1. It was just the other day when I was doing homework at my computer. I was trying to get an article to upload so I could read it for my Human Sexuality class (yes, it is a required coarse. I personally don't need help in that area... ;) ). The Blackboard website was having troubles and it was taking forever to load. I was getting very frustrated! Then in comes Caden and he told me he could help me fix it. So he jumped up on my lap and started pushing some buttons. It didn't work, but I did appreciate his concern at trying to help me out. While we waited for the "story" to load Caden and I decided to take some silly pictures...here is one of our many photos that we took! Caden was very excited when the "story" finally loaded and insisted that I read it to him. I started and I think I got through maybe one sentance and he said, "Mal, I will be right back ok?" Yeah....he never came back. I often end up spending some time in the hospital for one reason or another, whether it be visiting a family member or for my own emergencies. So when Friday the 13th falls in February I get a extra nervous. It was on Friday the 13th five years ago that Tiffany, Melanie and I got in the infamous car accident on our way to California. We only made it as far as Vegas upside down on the side of the road. Tiff was our hero who got out of the car barefoot to flag down a car while the rest of us were stuck in or under the car. I think it is safe to say this car accident had a huge effect on all of our lives, but it's been five years and we are still alive and kicking. Here are some pictures of the car after the accident. They are pretty gruesome.

Here are a couple pictures that show the effect it had on Tiff and me. It just so happened that John Krasinki's movie premiered today as well. Was it fate? I think so. We weren't going to the movie because we knew it wasn't really our kind of movie (if you know what I mean), but we were so determined to meet him and get our picture taken with him. We went to the theater and we actually saw him arrive and walk into the theater. It was super exciting to see him! He is just as adorable in person as he is on tv. We didn't get to actually meet him or get a picture with him, but Em did yell out, "John we love you!" And he smiled and said, "Aww thanks." It was cute. So they basically had a conversation. Amidst all of the excitement of trying to catch a glimpse of him I was able to get a couple decent pictures.

Although we weren't able to get a picture with Jim Halpert, we were however able to get our picture taken with none other than Mr. Andrew Bernard, Ed Helms himself. He was actually super nice. So all in all, this years Sundance experience was great! We went through the drama and heartache of the bad hair phases together. She has stuck with me through all of my bad hair days and bad hair years. She and I have done extensive studies on the evolution of my bangs and today I would like to share just a few of those stages with you. In doing so, I realize I am exposing myself to ridicule, but for informational and, most importantly, entertainment purposes I will take one for the team and share these pictures with you.
When we are younger we can get away with the disheveled look. Mom would just throw some curlers in my hair and let it go however it wanted. Really, at this age, who cares!

But then comes the awkward years. For me, the "awkward years" lasted the majority of my life. Rough times mostly do to my horrible bangs. There comes a time in your life where you feel the need to be stylish and I guess at one point these next bangs were stylish...or maybe not. Try to look past my buck teeth and huge glasses and focus on my bangs. As if you could miss them! They're huge! Tiff and I called these my "Ker-splat Bangs" because it looks like somebody just took a handful of hair and through it at my forehead and it just went everywhere. I think these bangs put the Utah Claw to shame.

Now I don't really remember how I finally toned down the huge bangs, but these next ones really aren't much better. Again, try to look past the teeth and the glasses and the "I think I just pee'd my pants" look on my face and focus on the bangs. In sixth grade Tiff and I decided we both wanted to get perms. Of course! Who doesn't want matching perms?! I already have some natural curl in my hair so perming it just makes the curls tighter, thus creating what we like to call "Weenie Bangs." This bang stage is a favorite among my family and friends.
In Junior High my awkward phase hit an all-time high or should I say low?! Does anyone else think that Junior High is the most miserable time in a person's life and should be done away with completely? Or perhaps it isn't as miserable for someone who doesn't have bangs, but for us poor unfortunate bang people it sucks! In eighth grade I just didn't know what to do with them anymore. I think they looked different everyday and I was really wanting to phase them out so somedays I would have less bangs than others. We called these bangs "Rat's nest Bangs" because who knows what the heck is living in there. Disgusting!
In eighth grade Tiff and I were determined to get rid of our bangs together, but we knew we couldn't just do it in the middle of the school year. That would just be weird! So on the last day of school the first thing we both did was go home, break out the bobby pins and pull those bangs to the side. We spent all summer growing them out and I started ninth grade looking like this. Isn't my forehead refreshing?
I was half way there. In high school I finally wised up and got rid of the glasses too. Look, I have a face!
And so after all the drama and suffering caused by years of bangs and the courage and determination to get rid of them, this is Tiff and me today.
If anyone sees me start to rat anything stop me immediately before it's too late!

The things I do for David...

As most of you probably know I have a little obsession with David Archuleta. So on Christmas Eve when I was reading my daily dose of news on David I freaked out when I found out he would be performing at the McKay Events Center in Orem, Utah for New Years Eve. The article in the Mormon Times stated this "David Archuleta, Rockapella, Osmonds 2nd Generation, Noteworthy and V-Factory will perform New Year's Eve at the David O. McKay Events Center in Orem, Utah. 'David is appearing as a favor for the Osmonds,' he said. 'It's like what he did for the Osmonds 2nd Generation Christmas concert a few days ago.'" The article then goes on to talk about how after the Osmonds/Rockapella concert there will be a dance where Ashely and David will return to perform again. So from reading this article you would think, Oh David will be performing at both events! I went directly to smithtix.com and bought tickets to the Osmond/Rockapella concert for me, my parents, Audrey and Emily. Since all of us wanted to see David perform I thought this event would be more family friendly than the hoochy UVU New Years Eve dance, cause we all know how UVU dances go down...yikes! Well the next day I had this feeling I should double check our tickets and as I was scoping things out I realized at smithtix.com David Archuleta's name was only on the New Years Eve Dance. I then started to panic! Did I get the wrong tickets??? I tried calling the ticket office but of course since it was the day after Christmas they were closed and wouldn't be open until Monday. So I had to stress about this ALL weekend! It was painful believe me. I tried finding other sources online that might know what was going on. Everywhere I read said David would be at both events so this calmed me down a bit. The Osmond Second Generation was on Fox 13 news as well as 2 news promoting the New Years Eve concert and so I was like sweet maybe I will find out some more info! David Osmond announced that David Archuleta would be performing a few songs with them at the concert. I thought phew I must have the right tickets then. Well when Monday morning rolled around the first thing I do when I roll out of bed is call the ticket office to double check about the tickets. The mean lady told me, "NO, David will not be performing with the Osmonds. He will only be at the Dance!" I think she must have been bombarded with phone calls that morning with other concerned Archie fans. She wasn't the friendliest haha. Even though I was peeved that I was tricked into buying the wrong tickets I just decided it was worth it to buy tickets to the dance as well. That was the only way I was going to be able to see David. On New Years Eve Day I had a schedule planned out for us to follow. I didn't want any chance of things going wrong. We left the house at 2:30 pm for Orem. First we stopped at the ticket office to pick up our tickets for the Osmond/Rockapella concert and Audrey, Emily and I bought our tickets for the dance with David. Then we headed to Provo where we ate lunch/dinner at Los Hermanos which is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants.
At this point things were going very smoothly. We got parking right in front at the restaurant, which never happens, and the food was great! I thought this must be a good omen for the rest of the night. After dinner we had about an hour to spare before the doors opened for the general admission concert so of course Emily insisted we waste some time at Ross. I think everyone could tell I was a bit anxious to get to the concert so we then left Ross and headed on over to UVU. I was told that doors opened at 6 and we got there at about 5:50, so we were like perfect we will only have to wait out in the cold for like 10 minutes. But UVU having been falsey advertising everything got that wrong too and we ended up going in at 6:30. We were all pretty much frozen by then and a little annoyed. But we ended up getting pretty good seats despite the fact that there were like 1o rows of reserved seats for VIP, which was another thing that peeved me. So we were on like row 13. Third row to the public, not bad I guess. I wasn't stoked for this concert but I put on my best attitude and it actually turned out to be really fun! Before the concert started the MC announced that since there had been so many misunderstandings and complaints about whether or not David Archuleta was going to be at the concert they would give a $5 discount to those that wanted to go to the dance if we showed our concert ticket stub when we bought our ticket. I don't think this made people much happier but the concert continued. The Osmonds were as cheesy as ever but David Osmond was great to look at.
I had never seen Rockapella in concert before so I didn't know what to expect but they were actually really entertaining and had some good songs. The brown sugar base man was my favorite. His low voice and dance moves were so sexy :) hehe. My favorite part of their show was when they sang the "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego" song. Do it Rockapella!! It was then time for the Dance. We had to exit the building to just go outside to wait in line in the cold yet again. Our place in line wasn't too shabby but then we were informed by stupid UVU that our ticket wasn't good enough to get into the concert so we had to go to the ticket office again to trade our ticket for a wrist band. By this point I was ready to punch someone in the face. I was so ticked at UVU for being so disorganized and for giving us all a run around. But I did what I was told. When we came back to get in line, the line had grown so now we were basically at the end. Cool cool right? I was able to get over it pretty fast because I knew I would be seeing David soon and it would all be worth it. Emily and Audrey however were pretty mad and I don't think they ever got happy again the rest of the night, in fact I think they got even more mad. Sorry guys... Even though I wasn't the first person in, I some how managed to work my way to the front so I was like a foot from the stage. I was then very happy :) They called this event the Nephoria New Years Eve Dance but no one was really dancing cause we were all packed as tightly as possibly towards the stage so no one could really move. So instead of us dancing we watched some kids dance on stage for about 2 1/2 hours too long. I pretty much had all their dances moves memorized by the end. Then out of no where they decided to have a fashion show in the middle of the crowd. Yeah that was ridiculous! No one came to see a fashion show peeps and they were trying to split the crowd in half so the models could walk down the center which was even more obnoxious. Oh UVU...freakin geniues! But then after the long, obnoxious, stressful day, it had finally reached 11:50 and they brought David Archuleta out. The crowd went wild. I basically jumped on the girls shoulders in front of me...but it's all good, we became good friends haha. David's 2 performaces, "A Little Too Not Over You" and "Crush" were flawless!! I was belting them out and trying to take everything in. It was over so fast but those 10 minutes with David were worth every ounce of stress and penny spent! Yes I paid $45 to see David perform for 10 minutes but I would do it again in a heart beat! I do apologize to Audrey and Emily for being surrounded by rejects and basically being dragged by me to this event. I owe you guys a lot :) It was great to ring in the new year with David! He accomplished so much in 2008 and I am so very proud of him! I hope 2009 brings him great things as well! Sorry that this post has become so lengthy. I just didn't want to leave any detail out of my stressful/glorious new years eve. Here are some pictures of David and a video of his performance "Crush."
<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; It was full of family, food, presents and Jeremy doing an elliptical workout in his new vinyl jumpsuit Liz gave him. Yep, just another Christmas at the Eyre house.
Caden was, of course, super excited about Christmas and all the presents. He was passing out presents like a mad man. Halle got her very first dolly, which is a milestone in a little girls life. She wasn't feeling so hot that day so she doesn't look very enthusiastic.
We debated whether we were going to make the trip down to Nephi because the weather was so bad, but my mom said it would be the first time in like 35 years that we all didn't go to Nephi on Christmas so we didn't want to break tradition. Grandma Eyre's house was packed with relatives, which was great! Now that all the cousins are older with their own families we rarely all get together so it was great to have most of the family there. The family fun continued throughout the rest of the weekend. On Saturday we all got together to watch the Jazz game and have fondue. The chocolate helped to comfort us after the sad loss to Houston. The Jazz put up a good fight though. The fondue party was also, for Mal, a celebration for David Archuleta's birthday. His birthday was actually the next day, but we decided to get the party started early!
It seems like everyone and their dog either got a Wii, Rock Band or both for Christmas. Liz and Lucas were among the lucky ones to get both so on Sunday night we all went up to Syracuse to play. I tried out my new Skookie and we all got our video game on. I'm a little rusty on the instruments, but I rocked it out on the vocals for Bon Jovi, Wanted Dead or Alive and Caden totally jammed on the drums.
They also got a Wii Fit, which is hilarious. We all got a kick out of the hula-hoop game. Here's Liz showing us her skills.

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v2.nonxt2.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3D913cf9e2fa20eba6%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1329893634%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3D5AB8A92B63CB1D63BE02C88E2D1E0953DBD52BC5.6FC79A8367B36089FFFC9A01754D9CD4CFB7BC38%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3D913cf9e2fa20eba6%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3D_5LcuLm5rErHGJPTqfJk7uRGG54&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />

So, in conclusion, Christmas at the Eyre house rocked this year! I decided to talk about one my favorite things to do, sleep! Whoever knows me can attest to the fact that I will fall asleep at any time or place no matter what the circumstance may be. Sometimes I just get tired and could use a snooze peeps...my life is rough! I have added some pictures that people have taken of me sleeping...some of them in random places. I swear we have more pictures of sleeping than of me awake but I guess it is one of my hobbies. I can't take pictures of myself sleeping so I am glad others are willing to document me in action or not in action I guess. And just another thing to note is I cannot for the life of me stay awake during a movie. Even if it is the most intense movie I have ever seen I will be sure to fall asleep. Take last night for example..Me and my friend Chere went and saw the movie Eagle Eye, and those that have seen this movie know it is an action/mystery/thriller so it kept me on the edge of my seat all night. I was so into it! When we were like 2 hours into the movie I noticed that I had not even fallen asleep and I was so proud of myself! But the next thing I knew Chere was waking me up cause the movie was over. How the crap did that happen?? I was so frustrated! She ended up having to tell me how the movie ended. So this hobby of mine that I enjoy can also be a nuisance. I miss a lot of great movies. My edited R rated movie night friends have decided to stop inviting me to watch movies with them cause they know I will just sleep through the whole thing. I need to work on perfecting this hobby so I don't miss out on so many things. Oh and another thing, the only picture of me that was included on the senior slide show that they played at graduation was a picture of me sleeping on my piano in piano class. What can I say? I love to sleep! Or maybe I don't sleep more than the average person, maybe people just always think to take pictures of me when I am sleeping. I think they find enjoyment in making fun of my sleeping face. Her name would be Audrey AKA Audj, Audigeridoo, Audj Podge Bagosh, Bruce Duckie, etc. Audrey is a fantastic human being full of energy and spunk! She is someone that I have always looked up to and wanted to be like. She has a very fun and contagious personality, always making people laugh. In all of our home movies she is the center of attention and I was always the annoying little sister running behind her trying to copy everything she did. She was that cool! But being the nice sister she is, would always include me. This may seem like something small but it has always meant a lot to me. So thanks Audj! If Audrey were to describe herself she would say she is a spectator, someone who enjoys going to shows, concerts and sporting events but what alot of you don't know she has many fun hidden talents. She is a fantastic clogger even though she has only taken one clogging class ever. Audrey is also quite the poet! You should ask to see her collection, my personal favorite is the one entitled "BSB I Love Thee." But my favorite talent that Audrey posseses is the ability to make Audrizzle delights, they are quite the delightful cookie :) Haha I could keep going on and about her cool talents...but I won't. I am sure we will see those talents in the blog posts to come. In Audrey's post she described me as someone who is very passionate about music, but she also has had her own fair share of fangirl moments. In fact I think she is the one that taught me the ranks. Everyone knows that Audrey is a BSB fan for life! Her and her friends spent many hours making videos impersonating them, or just gushing about their love for the band. She even sent a Book of Mormon to Kevin of BSB, which I always thought was cool. Always trying to spread the gospel! But most importantly Audrey is someone who has great faith and patience. This girl has been through alot of trials in her life but she has never lost faith or patience. I know she has helped strengthen our family a ton just by being a great example. Pretty much this girl is amazing! Love ya Audj!

Mal...

I'd like to take a post to introduce my fellow blogger, Malorie. If I had to describe Mal in one word it would probably be "Archuleta". Malorie is a very passionate person, especially when it comes to country music and a certain American Idol. When she finds something she is interested in she will find out absolutely everything there is to know about it. If you need a fan, whether you're an old time singer like Johnny Cash or a local no-name group or an American Idol runner-up, Mal is a professional. And she's not afraid to admit it, which is another one of her great qualities. She is who she is and it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. Being the youngest of five kids she's had to learn to stand up for herself. Also being the youngest she's had to worry about keeping up with her older siblings. While the rest of us have finished school and have moved on, she is still working away at getting her degree. I know she is working harder than I ever did. With all that studying she still finds time to be social and spend time with her friends. She is a very loyal friend and she genuinely cares about all of them. Mal is a very nonjudgmental person. Lately Mal has become one of my closest confidants. I know I can go to her without being judged and she will give me sincere advice and comfort. She never overanalyzes or overthinks anything. She knows what she wants and she knows what she believes and she sticks to her guns! So David, if you're reading this, Mal loves you and she would make an excellent girlfriend or at least first kiss!

So...this is our blog

It seems like everybody and their dog has a blog nowadays and Mal and I wanted to jump on the bandwagon as well and since neither of us have exciting enough lives on our own we figure by teaming up we will have enough to fill a blog.
